Social Networking site Bebo has reportedly made big gains on giant MySpace.com in the UK (via Mashable). The Guardian reports:
“Bebo ranked third most popular among all UK internet searches for the month to April 29, compared with MySpace, which ranked just 24th, according to figures from Hitwise UK…Bebo is closing the gap rapidly. In the eight weeks to April 29, Bebo’s share of visits rose 45% compared with 29% for MySpace.”
This probably isn’t news to MySpace as they recently announced that they were establishing an office in London to concentrate on building their european membership base. Is the domination of MySpace coming to an end? In the U.S. it is doubtful. Certain social networks dominate certain markets (i.e. Cyworld in Korea) and Myspace is the clear winner in North America.

[...] Personally I disagree with this strategy for right now. Bebo is starting to do so well in the foreign markets, I think they should keep expanding their dominance in those and other foreign areas. They are doing well in those markets, but they are still #2 behind Myspace in a few European markets. However this could change by December of this year.
