FANLETE Details

My social networking project, Fanlete, has gone into private beta testing, and we have decided to release some more details.

A couple months ago I realized that the only way for sports fans to interact on the internet are traditional forums, fantasy leagues, and betting (if you want to call it interaction). Fanlete is aimed to fill that void by being a social network for sports fans oriented around their favorite teams. While social networking is at the core of the site, we are focusing on unique interactive features that target sports fans. The one that I am the most excited about is the competitions feature. Competitions allow you to invite a group of friends to compete in a predictions contest that you create. Think of it as March Madness Brackets, but at any time, for any sport, in any combination that you wish. The social networking model brings everything together making it easy to see what your friends are predicting and saying about your favorite teams and players.
We will be opening the site up to more beta users within the next couple weeks, so if you are interested make sure to enter your email. I would love to hear feedback and questions on the concept. While I would love to talk about our goals, strategy, and methodolgy, I do not want this blog to be viewed as a place where I only promote my own projects. For that purpose I will be using the Fanlete Blog.

  1. You’re gonna do really well with this one. I think it would be a great idea for you to ask the right questions from the right people.

You don’t want this startup turning out like the previous ones.

  2. P.S.

Talk to the guys behind joga.com. Some of these people will have been exposed to the success Nike has had with their SN initiative, and will want to jump ship.

Talk to http://www.everyteam.com/ They can be either your friend or your competitor.
