I wanted to tell all my readers about an upcoming conference on social networks and online communites called Community Next. The conference is February 10th at Stanford University. If you are able to go, I HIGHLY recommend it. The line up of speakers is great featuring entrepreneur extraordinaire, Guy Kawaski, Ted Rheingold founder of Dogster and Catster, Jeffery Kalmikoff from Threadless, and more. This line up is great considering everyone is from a different type of online community or social network which means a diverse array of perspectives.
The schedule includes sessions such as “Growing Profitable Communities - Mo Users Mo Problems,” “The Rise of Niche Social Communities,” and “Founders Panel - How They Got to over 5 Million Members and What Is Next.â€Â
Unfortunately I am going to be on a cruise to honduras, belize, costa maya, etc during this time so will not be attending. But the fact that I would almost rather be at this conference on the 10th tells you how interesting I think it will be (or that I’m just a huge nerd). But as always I am up for meeting anyone in the social networking/online community space, so drop me an email at brian at brianbalfour.com at anytime.
To register for the event, just visit the website or click on the graphic up in my header.
